A BRIGHT LIGHT GOES OUT IN THE COTSWOLDS
EIRA HOOPER 3/7/55 – 9/7/08
EIra

Eira Hooper sadly passed away, peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday 9th July 2008.

She was a shining inspiration to us all and will live on in our hearts forever.

Much love and prayers to her family.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday 16th July, 2.30pm at Holy Trinity Church, Watermoor, Cirencester and afterwards in the Church Hall behind.

I do hope you can join us to celebrate the life of our most wonderful friend, she was a truly amazing lady.

Eira requested that bright colours be worn.

Eira joined the fight against breast cancer by starting up the first Breakthrough Breast Cancer Group in the Cotswolds. The group aims to organise activities and events to raise funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s vital research and education work and is delighted to have Mr & Mrs Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen as its Patrons.

Eira’s commitment to Breakthrough was inspired by her own experience, when she was diagnosed in the Autumn of 2004 with breast cancer, a disease that currently kills more than 1,000 women every month in the UK alone. The idea behind this group is not only to raise funds, but also to offer Eira, her family, friends and others the chance to meet up and enjoy themselves, whilst doing something really worthwhile.

In 1999, Breakthrough opened the UK’s first dedicated breast cancer research centre in partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research. The Breakthrough Toby Robins Breast Cancer Research Centre has over 90 world-class scientists and clinicians working in a co-ordinated effort to find a cure for breast cancer.

Meetings are usually held in Cirencester at 7.30pm on the second Tuesday of each month. For further details please contact Amanda Homan-Green on 01285 771137.
